Chairmans Update The club has just finished an exciting winter season, and so we thought that it was time that we wrote an update to everyone about what is going on, and what has happened. As i write this Chris Tremlett and the Mayor of Test Valley have just opened a new set of cricket nets, funded by the Veolia Environment Trust, which should kick off a great season of summer sport at the club, and draws to a close a good winter season, the highlights of which saw the Rugby Mens 1st XI gain promotion and win the cup, and the ladies 1st XI hockey maintain their league position in the English Premier National League. On top of this, we've recently won The Community Group of the Year, at awards held by Hampshire, The County Magazine, and have been appointed as one of only three clubs in the UK as a Junior Development Centre for National Hockey. The management of the Bar and Kitchen is now much better, as Stefano, who many of you will know, has added managment of the Bar to his running of the Kitchen. There should have been six links pop up on the right to explain all this in a bit more detail, including one or two dodgy photos! However there are still things to do, and there are couple of things the members might be able to help with. Firstly the club ( as opposed to individual sections) has no sponsors. If you, your business, or any of you contacts might be interested in sposoring the club, please get in touch, we now have something which is worth sponsoring! and secondly, Sport England have just launched their funding programme for the future, and there are a number of major funding streams which the club would be well placed to recieve if we were to put together a proper bid. If you would be interested in spending some time over the next month looking into this, and helping to prepare a bid please get in touch If you are interested in any of the above, email me at campbell@trojans.org.uk, or find me at the bar most Saturdays. Cheers Campbell Williams Chairman
